Divine Sovereignty: The Fuel of Death-Defying Missions- a sermon by David Platt

This sermon is without a doubt amazing, challenging and uplifting. David was speaking at the conference "Together for the Gospel" and I found this at the Gospel Coalition a group of churches that have formed a "coalition" of many churches for the furtherance of the faith. Among speakers that may be better known are John Piper, Timothy Keller and D. A Carson.

Drawing from many scriptures but focused on the Revelation of John whereupon John laments that no-one is  found that can open the seven scrolls.

For my evangelical friends- David Platt makes mention at various points of "particular atonement" or "particular sacrifice" which is the fully scripturally supported view of Christ dying for particular people from every people group of the world. Others might use the term "limited atonement".

"And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;" Revelation 5:9.

Steve thanks for your invitation, I will take up the offer as time enables.

I had a very brief look at a post of yours called ELECTION IS NOT PRESELECTION.

I hope the authority of the Word of God is every bit as important to you as it is to me.

If you have a bowl of sweets and take "out of" the bowl, the immediate sense would be that there is something left behind.
